Director
Lindiwe Phakathi is the Director and founding member of Motivated Construction Team 13 CC (MCT 13), a Construction and Community Development Consulting Company dedicated to the mantra “People meeting Progress.” With 24 years of cross-sector experience spanning NGO, government, private industry, mining, and local government, Lindiwe brings a proven capability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects from conception through successful close-out. She excels at building harmonious collaborations that deliver mutual benefits for communities and businesses alike.
Her career highlights include influential roles in HIV/AIDS management and workplace interventions across Southern Africa. Her work with SADC in Uganda on HIV/AIDS management studies and benchmarking, and her professional exploration of workplace HIV management in Botswana, reflect a deep commitment to health and social development in the workplace. In the mining sector, she served as Regional Community Development Superintendent for Anglo American Thermal Coal, overseeing five operations and leading the implementation of Social and Labour Plans (SLPs).
Lindiwe’s professional development is extensive, featuring certificates in Organizational Development (Ubuntu Social Development Institute), International Peace Studies (Peace Vision), Community Development Management (African Training Academy), Small Business Management (Wits Centre for Development and Dialogue), and Community Engagement (OXFAM). She is also the founder of LIFE CHANGING COLLABORATION, an NGO established in 2012 to empower young girls in school and community settings, underscoring her commitment to youth and gender empowerment. Beyond her consulting and NGO work, Lindiwe leads LINDIWE PHAKATHI Life Coaching, offering motivational talks, group coaching, and counseling services. Her Reaching Out program embodies UBUNTU, HUMILITY, and HOPE, providing practical upliftment to those in need.
In 2022, Lindiwe diversified her business by adding a micro lending arm, launching MCT Financial Lending (MCTFL) to address financial access challenges. Initially serving community members underserved by formal banks, MCTFL championed the belief that everyone deserves access to finance. By 2026, MCTFL pivoted to focus on SMMEs and startups that struggle to secure bank loans, expanding the impact of Lindiwe’s mission to empower entrepreneurship.
In addition to leading Motivated Construction Team 13 CC, Lindiwe now serves as a Director of the Nkangala Business Chamber, where she actively contributes to the growth and development of local businesses and communities. Her passion for people, progress, and positive impact remains the cornerstone of her work.
