Tania Maria Lopes is a licensed Business Rescue Practitioner and a Chartered Business Accountant in Practice (SA 12418) with a 13-year track record in turnaround leadership, restructuring, auditing, and senior financial and operational management.
Her multidisciplinary experience spans manufacturing, engineering, pharmaceuticals, construction, retail, property investment, automotive, hospitality, and distribution, underpinned by a strong focus on sustainable value creation and creditor-focused stakeholder engagement.
As a non-executive director on the Nkangala Business Chamber board, Tania contributes strategic governance insight and a practical, results-driven approach to supporting local business resilience and growth. She also serves as a director at Salvis Gratia Business Solutions (Pty) Ltd, where she leads complex rescue initiatives for distressed entities, advising creditors and other stakeholders, and delivering analytics-driven turnaround strategies.
Her professional credentials include membership with the Turnaround Management Association of South Africa (TMA), SARIPA, and related insolvency and restructuring bodies. Tania is recognized by Insol International as a Selected Future Leader for 2025, reflecting her leadership potential and impact in the field. Her academic foundation comprises a Bachelor of Accounting Sciences from the University of South Africa, a certified rescue analyst qualification from the University of Pretoria, and advanced insolvency studies through Insol International and SARIPA. She has also completed governance and data analytics training with Regenesys and Cambridge Academy.
Tania’s core strengths include high-level business management, cost accounting, financial and operational analysis, strategy development, and the design, implementation, and monitoring of controls and procedures. Her client-centric approach emphasizes transparent creditor negotiations, distressed-entity management, and pragmatic, legally informed solutions that stabilize operations, preserve value, and position organizations for sustainable recovery and growth.
